Marion McBainSuccessful in Reaching Settlement Agreements
The easiest court orders to live with are those that you and your ex agree upon.  In other words, the court adopts your agreement as the court’s order.   While mediation is one way of reaching agreements, successful negotiations with the other party or their attorney can also lead to a fair and amicable resolution.  I have almost 20 years of experience negotiating fair resolutions for my clients.  This approach saves you time, the cost of litigation and the stress of wondering how the judge may rule.

Litigation Experience
While the goal is always to reach a fair settlement outside of court, I have almost 20 years of experience in Jefferson, Adams, Broomfield, Denver, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, Larimer and Weld county courtrooms. I will aggressively and competently represent you should your case need to go to trial. I make sure my clients are well prepared and ready to participate in the litigation of their case, which dramatically reduces the anxiety and stress associated with going to court.

Ancillary Businesses
Mediation of Family Law Cases – I offer the option of mediation to clients who do not want to litigate their case. My hourly rate to serve as your mediator is $250 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours.  Each party usually pays one half of the cost of mediation unless there is an agreement otherwise. If an agreement is reached in mediation, I draft the agreement for you, which is then signed by the parties ready for you to file with the court. In all cases where mediation is court ordered, a Certificate of Mediation is provided to you.

Unbundled Services – Often parties only want assistance in getting the paperwork done properly.  If you have downloaded the forms from the judicial website and simply want an attorney to review how you have filled out the forms, I can do that by billing only for the time it takes to review the forms.  Other parties may need me to draft the appropriate paperwork for them and give guidance throughout the process.  This too I can assist with and charge you only for the time used.
